I’m pushing a boulder up a hill Sisyphus style when John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats appears, guitar in hand, saying “This is a song about how,”, a phrase buried in my cerebellum since I watched the 2008 recording of Palmcorder Yajna, uploaded to YouTube by Paste Magazine, first heard by those who attended the concert at the Independent, San Francisco, but I cut him off before he can build up steam by saying (K. Blair)

“Hey John, do you think you could help me with this?”

K. Blair (they/she) has had their name used in a groupchat as a verb to mean refusing to watch something she’d probably enjoy. They have recently been published in Daily Drunk Mag, The Bad Betty Press Book of Bad Betties Anthology, and the Final Girl Bulletin Board. Find her in the wild, on Twitter: @WhattheBlair, and Instagram: @urban_barbarian, and their website, http://www.kblair.co.uk.
