Maybe Mondays would be better if we slept together / Not you and I, the day itself: Monday / to get intimate with Monday / But, no, not depraved / Just me and Monday under the cover of blue light, treating each other to each other like we do to snacks on snacks / Without any pressure to fill the page with a cartoon intro like in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids or Better Off Dead featuring Hall & Oats dueling American Fotoplayers & Holiday Road sampled by The Weeknd while I butter toast and yawn like my face is just a mouth split open / Nothing’s happening / It’s a bunch of noise making / And the pen has drawn me bigger as a means to zoom closer to see what I’ve done with the place inside the snowfallen page / Pulling names and words out of hats / They carry more weight this way
