SCORPIO (S. T. Brant)

a Zodiac acrostic

I never wed black widows
Without an explanation
For consuming their previous lover;
and if I forgive their past,
Shame on me.
But after my devouring,
I’ll reincarnate
Into a body damned to incinerate
From the frag grenade blasts of an endless war, whose
                  Spiders
                  Carry
                  Off
                  Reposing
                  People
                  In
                  Order
To complete their Armageddon sized and indestructible web.
Detached, indifferent, the gods watch our doom
With amusement and snack food,
And the insincerest condolences
For the gladiators
Fed to the predators’ pit.
